Oneg Coordinator Needed
Onegs (welcome receptions) include refreshments enjoyed by our members and guests after Shabbat Services and add to the sense of community. Our long-time Oneg Coordinator of 15 years, Bettye Buchman, has decided to retire and pass the duties to a new coordinator.

Duties related to JCV onegs include:
· Maintaining a calendar for sponsorship and special occasions.
· Signing up members to host each month.
· Explaining the budget and sending instructions to Oneg Hosts.
· Ordering supplies.

Bettye will work with the new Oneg Coordinator to make the transition a smooth one. Onegs for July, August, September (partial), November, and December are covered. October is still open.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the JCV. Consider volunteering for this very important position, and contact president@thejcv.org

We appreciate all JCV members who help us create a welcoming Oneg Shabbat. If you are unable to volunteer at this time but would like to contribute funds, go to
https://www.jewishcongregationvenice.com/payment.php.   Under “online payments” select  “Type” scroll to “Oneg Shabbat.”

We offer Bettye many thanks for all her years of service. See poster.

In Case You Missed It

JCV Policy as of June 8, 2022
During a recent Board Of Directors meeting, there was a discussion about COVID-19 and its variants’ positivity rate. The Board follows the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, which endorse the use of masks in indoor settings when the positivity rates are high. Therefore, due to the high positivity rate in Sarasota County, effective immediately, everyone attending a function indoors at the JCV is expected to properly wear a mask, covering one’s nose and mouth. When actively eating or drinking, such as during an Oneg or other special event, you may remove your mask. However, it is expected when you finish, you will once again put on your mask.

While we realize that masking and other protective measures are cumbersome, we feel this is in the best interest for the health and well-being of those attending functions within the JCV. As a Board, we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and act accordingly.

You may wish to visit the CDC website at cdc.gov for further information and guidelines associated with COVID-19.
