Welcome to JCV!
Here in sunny Florida, there are so many opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences. Welcome to the JCV.
Choir
The JCV choir is a volunteer group of singers. We sing at the first Shabbat Services of each month. Rehearsal takes place at 6:30pm before the services. Most of the Shabbat singers also join our High Holy Days choir. You do not have to read music, but it is a plus! We like to look unified, so we wear white tops and dark bottoms for services.
If you are interested in singing with us, please contact Cantor Marci at cantor@thejcv.org.
Crafty Mavens
We love to quilt or just sit around talking about knitting, sewing, or quilting. We come together on the second and fourth Monday of every month and welcome anyone interested in any of the needle arts.
Food Festival
For 27 years, on the third Sunday in February, the Jewish Congregation of Venice has invited the greater community to celebrate the delicious diversity of Jewish foods and culture. From piled-high corned beef and pastrami sandwiches to stuffed cabbage, knishes, kugel, chicken and matzo ball soup, brisket and homemade pastries, thousands of attendees join hundreds of volunteers to enjoy food and entertainment. There is also a flea market, jewelry sale, continuous entertainment, vendor booths, and raffle prizes.

The Jewish Congregation of Venice presents its latest news updates via the digital newsletter called JCV News.

Ritual Committee
The Ritual Committee is an important arm of the Jewish Congregation of Venice.
The committee provides for Shabbat services on Friday evenings, occasional Havdalah and Shabbat morning services, and all festival and holiday services. It ensures that all prayer books, supplies, and materials that are necessary for worship services are available.
Members on a rotating basis are in charge of awarding aliyot and other honors that take place during services. For High Holy Day services, committee members are responsible for arranging for ushers, the assignment of aliyot and other honors and readings, and the production and collection of tickets and related matters.
Sisterhood
Sisterhood is an affiliation of women joined together to work for the good of the JCV, to promote interaction through religious, educational, cultural, civic, social and recreational events, and to develop a strong sense of community and friendship.
Sisterhood groups include Book Club and Lunch Bunch.
Women's Retreat
Each year is different—filled with speakers and plans with fifty ladies together singing songs and holding hands! When our retreat finally comes to an end, we are left hugging each other, enjoying our friends.
