JCV Sisterhood

A huge thank you to all of our members and friends who graciously and generously donated to our efforts to help the homeless and needy in the Venice area. The drive ended as of Friday, April 30. Our lobby was overflowing with bags and boxes of everything imaginable. Once again, thank you for your support. You will make many people very happy and that’s what we’re all about. You always come through and I thank you on behalf of our Sisterhood.
Debbie Jefko, JCV Sisterhood President
JCV Website Tips
Over the past year, the JCV website has been redesigned to be a more comprehensive communication tool for JCV congregants and the public who wish to learn more about the JCV. Please visit us often at www.jewishcongregationvenice.com
ARE YOUR YAHRZEITS CORRECT?
One of the most important expectations for members is to receive notification of yahrzeits. This is a benefit of being a member of the JCV, but we can only do this well if the information is correct in the system.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS OR IF YOU NEED HELP CALL NESSA at (941) 451-4021.
1. Go to the JCV Website: https://www.jewishcongregationvenice.com/
2. Login to your account (in the top right corner)
3. select: Membership
https://www.jewishcongregationvenice.com/membership.html
4. select: My Account
https://www.jewishcongregationvenice.com/member/
5. select: Manage Yahrzeits
https://www.jewishcongregationvenice.com/member/yahrzeits
or while still on the My Account page
https://www.jewishcongregationvenice.com/member/
under Member Portal
Profile and Family
Select the My Yahrzeits icon
- A list of yahrzeits will appear.
- For each person, you should see the relationship and name of the mourner, and the next date of observance.
Let’s be sure each individual yahrzeit is fully correct.
- Click on the “edit” button at the end right of the row.
- Fill in the boxes or fix any errors in the name.
- Enter the English date and click on the button if the death happened before or after sunset.
- Click on the big blue button so the equivalent Hebrew date will appear.
Now for a decision.
Do you want the JCV to read the name at Shabbat Services and notify you for the English or Hebrew date of the yahrzeit?
- If you want to be notified on the English calendar date: Click the box that says “English Observance.” If not, leave it blank.
- If you want to be notified on the Hebrew date, leave the box for “English Observance” blank, and click “From English.”
- Next, at the top of the light gray box, click on the word “Mourners.”
- Complete the information in the green boxes.
BE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN AND CLICK ON “SAVE CHANGES TO YAHRZEIT.”
