Help needed for Friday Shabbat meal prep and delivery drivers
Due to summer travel, we are losing some of our volunteer Shabbat meal preparers and drivers, and we need your help. Occasionally, when one of the full timers goes on vacation or is ill, we may need to call upon you to fill in. We have been preparing an average of ten to twelve meals weekly, which includes: entrée, salad, fruit, challah, and dessert.
All meals are pre-purchased, so just some prep work is needed. Meal prep begins at 11:30am and ends at 1:00pm. Driver delivery pickup begins at 12:45pm for local Venice area delivery (one Sarasota delivery) averaging a half hour. If you are willing to help prepare meals or drive, please contact: Judy Rapaport 315-591-1050 or rapaport.judy@gmail.com.

Thank you for your continued support of the JCV
We have survived.
We have flourished.
So many have stepped up in this year of the pandemic.
We found new ways to do programming and invested in different uses of technology.
When we return to in-person services and events, we will bring with us the lessons we learned and our new ways of thinking.
But most of all, we will appreciate our ability to gather and connect in person.
Great things are planned for 2021-22, including our 40th anniversary.
We encourage you to join us again, as a member of the JCV.

City of Venice recognizes “Anne Frank Day”
June 12th was the anniversary of Anne Frank’s birth and the City of Venice declared it “Anne Frank Day” last week, encouraging all citizens to recognize and commemorate this day.
JCV member Pieter Kohnstam was instrumental in approaching the Venice City Council with the idea. It is appropriate to reflect on the message of Anne Frank, while in the face of anti-Semitism, racism, and discrimination, and based on the importance of freedom, equal rights, and democracy, it is still possible to retain a belief in humanity; acknowledging that in her hope for a better world, people are basically good at heart.
Rabbi's Day Off and Office Hours
Rabbi Shull’s day off will be Sundays until such time as the synagogue building will be open for regular programming. Anyone interested in meeting Rabbi Shull in his office at the JCV, precluding any emergencies, is encouraged to give him a call and make an appointment during his regular office hours.
Tuesday 9:30am to 2:30pm
Wednesday 9:30am to 2:30pm
Thursday 10:00am to noon
Friday 9:00am to noon
If you would like to meet him in person at the JCV any other time Monday through Friday, that can also be arranged by calling to make an appointment. Rabbi Shull can be reached at 941-441-5713.
